Experiences & Opportunities
The school offers its pupils an excellent range of opportunities outside of the classroom. The well developed and resourced Outdoor Education programme is well received by the boys and gives them an opportunity to have a go at an exciting range of activities including:
- Mountaineering
- Climbing (indoors and outdoors)
- Mountain Biking
- Sailing
- Canoeing
- Fishing
- Orienteering
- Hill walking
- Duke of Edinburgh award
We also offer out of school trips during evenings and weekends. These include visits to local facilities such as swimming pools, skateboard parks and indoor play venues. At weekends pupils are given the opportunity to visit local towns or to attend special events such as bike and motor shows. Visits to venues such as ski slopes and snow-domes, laser quest and theatres are also offered as special events. Some pupils join local organisations such as the Air Cadets.
Residential visits and expeditions reach far and wide. To date, the boys have been to The Outer Hebrides, North Wales, West Wales, The Lake District and Central France. These visits are annual events and enable the staff and boys to develop the close relationships that form the key component of our successful work and form mutual respect.
